The construction of internal roads in Azerbaijan's Aghdam city is progressing quickly and efficiently.

According to the master plan for the city, approved by the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, the city's internal roads stretch a whopping 189.7 kilometers, paving the way for smooth travel.

The blueprint for the internal roads in Agdam is set to roll out with six different cross-section designs in the mix.

The number of traffic lanes varies from 2 to 8 based on the significance of each cross-section; the width of the green strip measures between 1.5 and 3 meters; the bicycle lane is 1.5 meters wide; and the pedestrian lane spans 4 to 6 meters.

The designated length of the primary urban thoroughfares is 17.5 kilometers. Roads measuring 55-60 meters in width will comprise six to eight traffic lanes. The length of roads of urban significance will be 50 kilometers, while the entire length of local roads will amount to 122.2 kilometers.

Construction is presently in progress on the initial phase of a segment of 58.7 kilometers. Earthwork and road base construction are now in progress in the specified section. Asphalt concrete installation has commenced on portions where the road base is prepared.

Moreover, infrastructure for communication lines, including water supply, sewage, storm drains, gas lines, and power supply lines, is being developed along the streets of Aghdam.

The physical advancement in this section is approximately 70 percent complete.

According to the first state program for the 'Great Return' to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, the construction of internal roads in the city of Aghdam is planned to be completed by 2026.

To note, the internal road and communication network of Aghdam city had its foundation stone laid on October 4, 2022.
